Photos: No. 1 overall picks who played in the major leagues

Monday brings a day many Astros fans have been waiting for with great anticipation: the promotion to the major leagues of top prospect Carlos Correa.

When he does officially take the field or step into the batter’s box for the first time, Correa will become the 44th player taken No. 1 overall to reach the bigs. Now, whether he will go on to have a career as productive as Ken Griffy Jr. and Chipper Jones, or flame out a la David Clyde and Al Chambers, remains to be seen, but he’s joining a first-place club with a fan base starving for a consistent winner.
