McHugh trying to catch up in Minors game

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Astros right-hander Collin McHugh, who's behind in his throwing program this spring after experiencing "dead arm" earlier in camp, threw 41 pitches in three innings in a Minor League game Wednesday on the back fields of the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.

McHugh gave up two hits and one run and struck out five batters in facing an array of hitters, including Preston Tucker, who's rehabbing from shoulder surgery. McHugh said he came through the outing as well as could be expected.

"In Spring Training, the most important thing is the up and downs and getting all the pitches you want to get in and limiting damage, honestly," McHugh said.
