Jose Urquidy Struggles Again in Third Spring Start. Astros Fall to Marlins 6-5

Jose Urquidy continued his run of Spring mediocrity today, allowing two earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched, allowing three hits with three strikeouts. For the Spring he has pitched eight innings, allowing six runs with six strikeouts.

Urquidy’s trouble today came in the second inning when he allowed both runs on two singles and a double by Jorge Alfaro. Urquidy was replaced in the fourth by our old friend, PED-suspended, one-time top prospect Frances Martes, who recorded the last out in his only appearance this Spring.

Brandon Bielak, a possible rotation depth piece later in the season, also failed to impress.
