Houston Astros: Four players snubbed from the All-Star game

When you are the reigning world champions, it’s no secret that you have a team full of talent. The Houston Astros have that, and then some. So when the 2018 All-Star Game selections happened yesterday, it was expected that the spacemen would be well represented.

Jose Altuve was the highest vote-getter, coming in at well over 4 million votes. Not just for the American League, but across all of baseball. George Springer and Alex Bregman were voted in as reserves by the players. Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander were pitching invites, although Verlander pitching on Sunday means he won’t play in the All-Star Game.
