The Astros’ winter caravan began Monday with community appearances in Houston before branching out to Austin, Corpus Christi and San Antonio this week.
Astros president of business operations Reid Ryan was part of the afternoon shift at Houston Food Bank, where he said more than 100 Astros employees assisted throughout the day Monday.
“This is my first time to be here,” Ryan said. “I enjoy the fact that we’re able to do that. I think part of the responsibility of the team, obviously besides winning games and making the people proud of having a winning product — you got to try to make the community you live in better and grow the game of baseball.
