PHOENIX -- Astros shortstop Carlos Correa set the club rookie record for homers in a season when he clubbed his 22nd in the fourth inning of Friday night's game against the D-backs at Chase Field, giving Houston a 7-1 lead.
Correa crushed a pitch from reliever Josh Collmenter and launched it over the wall just left of center field. He broke the record of 21 set by Lance Berkman in 2000, and he also extended his club record for homers by a shortstop (Dickie Thon is second with 19 in 1983).
