Carlos Gomez and his indirect role in Mets’ World Series run

Four Mets appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live as part of the lead-up to the World Series, including Wilmer Flores, the infielder whom the Mets nearly dealt to the Brewers on July 29 for Carlos Gomez.

Kimmel quickly brought up the emotions Flores showed when fans told him during that July 29 game, as reports of a deal got out, that he had been traded. The then 23-year-old started crying.

“You thought you had been traded to Milwaukee and you were upset,” Kimmel said before the audience cheered.

But there was no deal in the end.
