Bull Rush: Astros Call up Switch-Hitting Third Baseman Abraham Toro

On the heels of injuries to infielders Carlos Correa and Aledmys Diaz, the Houston Astros made a surprise call-up of Round Rock third baseman Abraham Toro, Jake Kaplan reports.

As Toro is not only not on the 25-man roster, but also not on the 40-man roster, corresponding moves will be made to add him.

Toro is the Astros’ most notable switch hitting prospect. Toro began the year at AA at Corpus Christi where he slashed .306/.393/.513 for an OPS of .906 in 435 plate appearances. He was rewarded just 20 days ago on August 2nd, with a call up to AAA Round Rock, where he only got better, slashing .
