HOUSTON -- Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is trying to take his hot streak right into the All-Star Game presented by MasterCard.
Bregman, the American League Player of the Month for June who earlier this week was named to the AL All-Star team, cranked a two-run double to left-center field off A's starter Trevor Cahill to give the Astros a 2-0 lead over Oakland in the third inning of Thursday's series finale at Minute Maid Park.
Bregman has reached base safely in 50 of his last 51 games, including 19 in a row.
