HOUSTON -- The Twins greeted red-hot Astros third baseman Alex Bregman with a four-man outfield alignment in his first at-bat in the first inning on Wednesday night. With the way he's hitting the ball, it doesn't matter where the defenders are positioned.
Bregman, who wound up drawing a walk in the first inning, continued his assault on opposing pitchers by belting a two-run homer off Twins starter Jake Odorizzi in the third inning, giving Houston a 2-0 lead in the series finale at Minute Maid Park. The homer extended Bregman's career highs for homers (29) and RBIs (93).
