COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Jeff Bagwell was among the last to speak to reporters Friday afternoon at the Cooper Inn, where the Astros held a private banquet in honor of Craig Biggio. The man of honor was not on hand, but many Astros dignitaries were, from Larry Dierker to Tal Smith to Bill Brown to Art Howe.
Bagwell spoke to the media on the condition he would only be asked about his relationship with Biggio, team spokesperson Gene Dias said, in what was likely an effort to keep Bagwell from potential questions about his own Hall candidacy, or a video of him in the stands at an Astros game that recently went viral.
