Now the trick for the Astros is to maintain their strong position, even when the team inevitably cools off at some point, to some unknown degree.
“To a certain extent, it makes me want to work harder and faster and more intensely to make sure that we can maintain this,” general manager Jeff Luhnow said of the hot start. “Because now, the expectations start to rise. We’ve asked a lot of our fans over the last few years, to be patient, and now that they see something coming, the expectations are going to rise pretty quickly, and we’re starting to become a national story.
