CHICAGO (AP) -- Prized Astros prospect Carlos Correa is in the starting lineup for his major league debut.

The 20-year-old Correa became the youngest player in the majors when he was brought up from Triple-A Fresno. He was playing shortstop and batting sixth Monday night in Chicago against White Sox ace Chris Sale.

Correa was the top overall pick in the 2012 draft. Houston leads the AL West despite four straight losses.

Correa was hitting a combined .335 with 10 home runs, 44 RBIs and 18 stolen bases in Triple-A and Double-A.

The Astros optioned right-hander Jake Buchanan to Triple-A Fresno and infielder Matt Dominguez was designated for assignment.
