The University of Hawai’i basketball team had a day off from practices on Friday, but still managed to make a difference.
Members of the team visited the Children’s Miracle Network at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, and the UH basketball program presented a donation of $1,720 to the hospital.
The donations started on “Star Wars Night” when the Warriors beat Nicholls State on November 22. Lucas Films, University of Hawai’i Basketball, Phi Mu Sorority, and three local Star Wars clubs (501st Legion, Rebel Legion and Mandalorian Mercs) collaborated on the effort, collecting $860 in donations from fans at the Stan Sheriff Center that night.
