Brocke Stepteau scored a career-high 24 points to lead the University of Hawai’i to a 90-79 upset win over Utah on the opening night of the Wooden Legacy tournament at Fullerton, Calif.
Jack Purchase added 14 points and eight rebounds, Eddie Stansberry scored 15, Sheriff Drammeh 11 and Drew Buggs 10 fro the Rainbow Warriors, who improved to 4-1.
Hawai’i will face Seton Hall in a semifinal game at 6:30 p.m. (Hawai’i time) on Friday. Seton Hall beat Grand Canyon, 82-75, earlier on Thursday.
