Warriors stop Cal Poly, 69-56, on the road

Kamaka Hepa scored 29 points to lead the University of Hawai’i basketball team to a 69-56 road win at Cal Poly on Saturday.

The Rainbow Warriors improved to 17-7 overall and 8-4 in the Big West Conference with their second win over the Mustangs this season. Hawai’i is now in a three-way tie for third place with UC Riverside and Long Beach State. Cal Poly lost its 11th consecutive game to drop to 7-17 overall and 1-11 in the BWC.

Hepa shot 7 for 11 from the field overall, 4 of 6 from 3-point range, and 11 of 12 on free throws.
