Sheriff Drammeh scored a game-high 19 points, Noah Allen added 15 points and eight rebounds, and Leland Green contributed 13 points tonight as the University of Hawai’i rolled past Brigham Young-Hawai’i, 97-74, in exhibition men’s basketball action.
A small-but-delighted crowd of about 1,500 at the Stan Sheriff Center watched the debut of six new Rainbow Warriors, including Allen, Johnson and Gibson Johnson, who added 12 points and seven boards. Another newcomer, Matt Owies, scored 12 points and grabbed three rebounds. Jack Purchase, who sat out last season as a redshirt, contributed 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.
