For a program in search of national respect, one loss can certainly make a lot of difference. The University of Hawai’i basketball team is finding that out after a 78-64 home loss to Long Beach State on Saturday.
The Warriors are no longer receiving any points in the national Top 25 polls, and are no longer in the “Bracketology with Joe Lunardi” projections on ESPN.com.
Hawai’i, which is 16-3 overall and 5-1 in the Big West Conference, had been building points in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll since January 11.
The Warriors, however, are still being recognized as one of the top mid-major teams in the country.
