Princeton broke away in the second half for a 77-63 victory over the University of Hawai’i basketball team on the final day of the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic on Christmas Day at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Tigers improved to 7-7 and finished in fifth place in the tournament. The Rainbow Warriors went 1-2 in the tournament to drop to 8-4 overall while finishing in sixth place.
Mike Thomas broke out of a recent slump with 22 points and seven rebounds to lead Hawai’i. Brocke Stepteau added 15 points, and Gibson Johnson and Sheriff Drammeh scored nine each for the Warriors.
