HONOLULU -- Kenny Potter accounted for five total touchdowns, all in the first half, to lead San Jose State past Hawaii 42-23 Saturday night.
Potter completed 23 of 32 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 54 yards and two scores. Tyler Ervin ran for 114 yards and a score and added six receptions for 62 yards for San Jose State (5-6, 4-3 Mountain West).
The Spartans scored touchdowns on each of their first six drives to take a 42-7 lead midway through the third quarter. They had 344 total yards -- averaging 8.
