NCAA lifts postseason ban on Hawai’i

One day before its regular-season finale, and less than a week before the start of the Big West Conference Tournament, the University of Hawai’i basketball team learned that it will be allowed to participate in the postseason, effective immediately.

This means that the Warriors are now eligible to play in the Big West Tournament, where it could be seeded anywhere from third to fifth, pending various outcomes. The winner of the three-day tournament will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The first round of games in the Big West Tournament is scheduled for March 9 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
