Kolten Wong clearly doesn’t want to be in the minors for long.
Wong blasted a walk-off grand slam Thursday in his first game since being demoted to Triple-A Memphis, hitting two home runs in the Redbirds’ 8-5 victory against Colorado Springs in Memphis, Tenn.
Wong drove in five runs, matching his RBI total in his 49 games with the Cardinals. St. Louis sent the struggling Wong down to the minors Monday after the 2008 Kamehameha graduate became the odd man for playing time out in the infield. he was hitting just .222.
After a few of days to think things over, Wong played second and finished 3 for 4 with a walk, leading off the bottom of the first with a home run.
