Randy Llanes, a veteran Kailua-Kona charter boat captain who passed May 29 after a swordfish punctured him in his chest, was remembered by his loved ones and fellow captains during a scattering of his ashes on Friday off the Kona coast.
While Llanes was known for his prowess on the water, he also held the distinction of captain away from the ocean, as the leader of the Strongarms Bowling Team.
KBXtreme, Llanes’ home bowling alley, is providing another way to remember the fallen captain and to give back with the Captain Randy Llanes Tournament on June 28.
