It’s not quite official yet, but Leland Green did sign and send his National Letter of Intent to play for the University of Hawai’i basketball team next season.
Green, a 6-foot-2 guard, recently completed a standout senior season at Redondo Union High School in California, and will be a freshman at UH during the 2016-17 season.
Green said he signed his letter of intent at a ceremony at Redondo Union on April 13, which is the first day of the regular signing period. All of his paperwork must still be approved by UH officials before an official announcement can be made.
