Head coach Eran Ganot is on a temporary medical leave of absence from the University of Hawai’i basketball team, the school announced on Wednesday.
The specific reasons for his leave, and an expected return, were not announced.
Assistant coach Chris Gerlufsen, who officially joined the staff in September, is serving as acting head coach.
The Rainbow Warriors will open the 2019-20 regular season on Friday, when they host Florida A&M on the opening night of the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center. It is the first of three games in four nights for the Warriors.
