BIIF soccer: Honokaa boys picking up steam in D-II, defeat Keaau

Easy usually does it.

Yo Bostwick notched a goal and an assist, Levi Higa scored the go-ahead goal Monday and Honokaa beat Keaau 3-1 to gain a measure of momentum heading into its biggest BIIF boys soccer match so far this season.

“We’re starting to understand a little more,” coach Maurice Miranda said after the host Dragons won their second in a row to even their mark at 4-4 in the White Division.

“We’re playing simpler, finding the open guys and not overplaying.”

With Kamehameha far ahead of the Division II field, Honokaa welcomes Makua Lani (3-5 White) on Wednesday in a likely preview of the BIIF semifinals.
