After a promising 3-0 BIIF start thanks to few defensive miscues, the Konawaena defense has fallen apart over the last two games.
After committing six errors in a loss to Kamehameha over the weekend, the Wildcats made eight more errors but scratched out a 7-6 victory Monday against Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Kealakekua.
“We have to take another look at our defense,” said Konawaena head coach Adam Tabieros. “But I am glad the guys kept their heads up and kept fighting.”
The Wildcats (4-1) have struggled at shortstop, where sophomore, and first year starter, Andrew Udac has committed eight errors in the last two games.
