KEAAU — As Kamehameha players trickled out of their locker room, one stopped with a message for coach Dan Lyons, perhaps already anticipating the practice week ahead.
Player: “I have a lot of work to do.”
Lyons: “We all do.”
Lyons sure didn’t sound like a coach who had just won 62-7, not after an almost comical first half against Hawaii Prep in which the Warriors lost seven fumbles, finishing with an eye-popping nine turnovers in all.
“We will do a lot of ball security drills this week,” Lyons said.
To be fair, it was wet.
