Bayles leaving Hawai’i for pro ball in Australia

Biwali Bayles will be leaving the University of Hawai’i basketball program with intentions to play professionally in his home country of Australia, according to KHON2 Sports.

Bayles, a 6-foot-1 freshman who emerged as the starting point guard during the latter half of the 2020-21 season, announced through his social media, “Thank you Hawaii. Excited for my next chapter.”

Bayles averaged 6.2 points and 3.1 rebounds, and led the Rainbow Warriors with 2.6 assists per game. He also led the team with a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio.

He is the fifth player from the 2020-21 roster to announce intentions to leave Hawai’i since the season ended on March 11.
