The argument could be made that the 2016 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic is a winnable tournament for all eight teams, including the University of Hawai’i.
For the first time in the eight-year history of the tournament, there are no Top 25 ranked teams in the field. Every team has at least two losses.

Hawai’i (4-5) will host Illinois State (6-3) in the late game (8:30 p.m.) of the opening night on December 22. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
Four games per day are scheduled for December 22, 23 and 25 at the Stan Sheriff Center, and all 12 games in the tournament will be broadcast on an ESPN network (ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3).
