Ted Thompson Will No Longer Be The Packers General Manager

The Green Bay Packers need a new general manager. Ted Thompson, the current GM, will move into a new position with the staff, reports Ian Rapoport

It's unclear what the new role for Thompson will be. Thompson has served as Packers GM since 2005. Team president Mark Murphy will determine who ascends to what roles.

Keep an eye on Eliot Wolf as a potential replacement. The 35-year-old is the director of football operations for the Packers. Another internal candidate is Brian Gutekunst. Wolf has been with the Packers since 2004, starting as a pro personnel assistant. Both Wolf and Gutekunst have been connected to other vacant GM positions, but have not left.
