OK, time to put the pre-season in the rear view. Even if we weren’t Packers fans, the opener in nine days between Chicago and Green Bay would rank as one of the most fascinating week 1 matchups of the year.
The historic rivalry; the endless podcast/talk radio/fan-base sniping; the rant heard ‘round the world from Aaron Rodgers … these factors alone should interest any NFL aficionado. But most intriguing is that we don’t know what these two transformed franchises are going to look like on the field. For the first time in years, preseason projections about them are worthless.
