Earlier this week, Green Bay’s star running back, Aaron Jones agreed to a pay cut. This, along with a contract restructure initiated by the Packers, ensured Jones will stay in the fold this season, and likely in 2024 too.
While the contract adjustments have lowered Jones’ cap hit to around $8m in 2023, that figure will boom to $17m next year. If the Packers cut Jones loose in 2024, they would incur more than $12m in dead cap.
So, Jones appears to be here to stay, but what does all this mean for his running mate, AJ Dillon?
