Wednesday Cheese Curds: Matt LaFleur plays his part

Matt LaFleur has always toed the party line when it comes to the Packers’ ongoing standoff with Aaron Rodgers. Heading into his fifth year (somehow!), LaFleur has been gracious to a fault about Rodgers, grateful for his time with the legendary quarterback, while still expressing optimism about the Packers’ future with Jordan Love.

LaFleur has, in my estimation, handled this situation well — but this is the easy part. All you have to do is show up and stick to the script. The hard part is taking Jordan Love from promising backup to capable starter, and there’s still considerable work to be done there, even if Love has made great strides since the Packers drafted him in 2020.
