Potential is a funny thing. You can have a ton of it and it won’t matter a lick until you actually put it into practice. But translating potential into something real is a tricky process, and the road from potential to the real world is full of players who never made the leap. You’d rather have the potential to do great things than not, of course, but it’s the doing that matters, not what you could maybe possibly hopefully potentially do one day.
I think that’s a good comparison for what the Packers are looking at with their two young linebackers.
