Thursday Cheese Curds: The Packers may have no choice but to draft a wide receiver

Yesterday in cheese curds we examined reports that the Green Bay Packers are interested in receiver D’Wayne Eskridge from Western Michigan. He’s a smaller slot-type receiver who traditionally goes against the measurement requirements the Packers typically hold for the position.

Today we pull back a bit and look at Green Bay’s wide receiver group heading into next week’s NFL Draft.

Last year everyone felt it was all but a lock that the Packers would select a wide receiver in the first round, if not at some point in the draft. Instead the team made the stunning move to trade up to select quarterback Jordan Love, a move that is still hotly debated a year later.
