The Green Bay Packers roster got younger this past offseason. Part of that was the transition from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love. Part of it was the salary cap issues largely caused by Rodgers’ onerous contract and the dead cap hit associated with it. Another cause was GM Brian Gutekunst’s decision to restructure so many veteran contracts to try to win another title for Rodgers in recent years. Eventually, the bill came due. Gute also just wanted the team to get younger and retool.
But at the end of the day, the veterans the Packers moved on from have not done well since leaving Green Bay.
