Packers GM Brian Gutekunst as some difficult decisions to make over this offseason. One of them involves whether to exercise the team’s fifth-year option on quarterback Jordan Love.
Love has barely played over the first three seasons of his pro career. The Packers drafted the former Utah State star in the first round back in 2020 as the heir apparent to Aaron Rodgers.
Most observers were surprised when the Packers used a first-round pick on Love when Rodgers was still on the roster. But Rodgers himself sat behind Brett Favre for the first three seasons of his career from 2005-2007 and Love was expected to have a similar path.
