Mini-camp thoughts:
• The Packers should not excuse Aaron Rodgers’ absence and forgive the fines. I understand why they might view it as a goodwill gesture that could help convince him to return. But I don’t think it will make much difference to him.
For one thing, if Rodgers does come back, it will likely be with a big raise and contract guarantee that would be enough to pay his fines many, many times over. I’m also concerned about the message this would send to everybody else on the team.
