Super Bowl LIX: Chiefs in rare territory as they eye historic third straight championship

The Kansas City Chiefs are in historic territory.

The Chiefs, thanks to a wild 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC championship game on Sunday afternoon, have earned their spot in Super Bowl LIX. They'll take on the Philadelphia Eagles — who rolled over the Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game — next month in New Orleans.

If the Chiefs can lift the Lombardi Trophy, it'll mark their third straight Super Bowl win. No team in NFL history has ever won three straight. In fact, very few have even had the opportunity to do so.
