The Pittsburgh Steelers may have a wide receiver acquisition in mind — as QB Aaron Rodgers reportedly called his former Green Bay Packers to inquire about a pass catcher’s availability.
According to Packers insider Bill Huber, Rodgers was interested in WR Romeo Doubs, a rumored trade target and potential Packers roster cut candidate — calling Green Bay himself to learn more about his status.
“Rodgers called on Monday, one day before roster cuts; interestingly, he asked about the status of receiver Romeo Doubs,” Huber wrote. “Exactly two months after Tuesday’s roster cuts, the Packers will visit the Steelers on Oct.
