Ron Wolf's trade for Brett Favre no sure thing at the time for Packers

Breaking down one of the riskiest draft moves by the Green Bay Packers over the past 25 years:

Round/overall selection: First/17th overall -- traded to the Atlanta Falcons for quarterback Brett Favre on Feb. 11, 1992.

Did the risk pay off? Of course it did, and Favre will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 6. But it was no sure thing at the time. In fact, it seemed like a major gamble to give up a first-round pick for a quarterback who a year earlier was a second-round selection and by his own admission pretty much spent his rookie year in Atlanta drinking and partying.
