Former Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields is attempting to make a comeback after multiple concussions derailed his once-promising career, according to multiple reports Monday.
Shields, 30, will visit teams this week, including the Cleveland Browns, according to a report from ESPN. He will meet with the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Shields was released by the Packers in February of 2017 after suffering a concussion in Week 1 of the 2016 season that sidelined him for the remainder of the year. It was the fourth concussion of his career and second in nine months after a previous concussion caused him to miss the final three regular-season games of the 2015 season and the subsequent NFC wild-card game.
