Past Draft Failures Are the Biggest Reason for the Packers Continued Need at Cornerback

Cornerback is once again at or near the top of the list when looking at the Green Bay Packers draft needs in 2021. It seems like the need at this position is a recurring theme for this franchise recently. While the salary cap, free agency and injuries have played a part in this need, the team’s mixed record when drafting cornerbacks is the primary reason for this recurring problem.

The Packers have drafted a cornerback five times in the top three rounds of the draft since 2015 but they haven’t gotten a lot of help in this area despite the priority they have placed on it.
