Several Panhandle area schools are heading to Lubbock to take part in the 2021 Caprock Classic basketball tournament this week.
The 62nd annual Caprock Classic will see five boys teams and two girls teams from the region compete in the tournament in different brackets. On the boys' side, District 3-1A foes Texline and Wildorado highlight the boys' brackets that also include Borger, Vega and Panhandle.
The No. 1-ranked Tornadoes and No. 8-ranked Mustangs will both compete in the MCM Elegante red bracket, with Wildorado opening with a matchup against the Lubbock Titans at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and Texline facing Lorenzo at 3 p.
