The Green Bay Packers will not be re-signing free agent tight end Tyler Davis before the 2025 season, according to reporting from Bill Huber of SI.com.
Davis, 28, has been with the Packers since 2021. Injuries wrecked his last two seasons before they even began. In 2023, Davis tore his ACL during a preseason game and missed the rest of the year. In 2024, he injured his shoulder in training camp and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. Davis hasn't appeared in a regular season game since early January of 2023.
The decision not to re-sign is hardly a surprise -- fringe roster types with a recent history of significant injuries often have a hard time finding work at the pro level.
