The Green Bay Packers waived rookie receiver Sam Brown Jr. to make room on the 91-man roster for veteran offensive lineman Lecitus Smith, who was signed on Tuesday, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
Brown, an undrafted rookie out of Miami, missed the last two practices, including Family Night, with a groin injury. He was waived with an injury designation.
Smith, a sixth-round pick or the Arizona Cardinals in 2022, spent training camp with the Packers last summer and then was on the team’s practice squad for two months before being signed to the active roster of the New England Patriots.
