Monday marked the first practice that the Green Bay Packers had in training camp following their “acclimation period.” In layman’s terms, this means that the shoulder pads came on for the first time this summer.
Unfortunately, the big news of the day was that free-agent cornerback signing Nate Hobbs probably took it a little too far. Just days after Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that Hobbs needed to work on playing through hands instead of the body of his teammates in practice, Hobbs went low on running back MarShawn Lloyd in the first padded team period of Green Bay’s offseason.
