Packers' Running Backs Sprinting to Improvement

After an offseason full of hype for the new running backs in town, the Packers entered the preseason sporting a young group that was expected to split their carries—and do so efficiently—without the possibility of stagnancy.

With Ty Montgomery leading the charge, supported by Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones and Devante Mays—all three of which were drafted back in April—stagnancy was all that existed last week.

They totaled 47 yards on 19 touches as a group, even with quarterbacks Taysom Hill, Brett Hundley and Joe Callahan chiming in as a trio. They did so in a 24-9 win but left a lot of unanswered questions in their first exhibition action.
