The Athletic reports that the Packers are releasing wide receiver Darrius Shepherd.
The news comes on the heels of reports that the Packers are signing veteran wide receiver Tavon Austin.
Shepherd undoubtedly fell out of favor after his fumble on a kickoff return against the Colts two weeks ago.
A 5-foot-11, 186-pound rookie out of North Dakota State, Shepherd was originally signed by Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2019, after participating in the team's rookie orientation on a tryout basis.
He had two strong training camps but could never put it together in the regular season, with two glaring miscues - the ball that bounced off his facemask turning into an interception against the Lions and the fumble against the Colts - being the things he'll unfortunately be most be remembered for.
